Great job guys, modern day hot rodding & UC's are perfect for it. I like the recessed lights keep up the good work!

Doh! Fixed the compressor and the high frequency on the tig goes out, will give it a blow out tomorrow and see how it goes! Might need a new one of both at tax time!!

Have had to shelve this project for a while, had a stroke three weeks ago at work, spent some time in hospital. Home now but can’t walk properly and do much.

Damn, that's not the kind of stroke® we like to hear about, hope you're able to recover quickly.

Really sorry to hear that Steffi.  The car can wait but your health can't.  I hope you make a full recovery. Cheers Ron

Quick picture of an exhaust I’ve been making for one of the other cars to try to regain some fine motor skills. Not easy getting under a car with a walking stick!

Lots of welding to do there.

Are you using Solar Flux on the inside of the welds?

Makes them a whole lot neater especially with that many cuts.

Wouldnt using mandrels and chopping them have reduced the number of cuts?

Good to see you up and about.

Hope you are back on deck sooner rather than later.

Thankyou, i calculate it as 5.8metres of weld. Think I’m going to need more welding gas, paste on the inside or back purging is an excellent idea, was a little project that has blown out of all proportion.
I can sit at my welding bench now and just tig for hours. Had to bin the whole setup today as it’s not cutting it. New regulator and switched to my spare inverter machine. I think the 1970’s transformer is dead!!

Not bad life out of something.

But they did build things to last back then.

Im still having trouble with TIG.

Not enough practice.

Chews the gas up heaps.

Might need to invest in a foot pedal.

It was gas use that prompted me to spray the regulator down with soapy water, sure enough the diaphragm was leaking, I’d already replaced the hose so i knew it wasn’t that.
