The body number is correct, same as the PSN but without the model code suffix.  BTW the body number is suffixed M.

The exact original engine number is anyone's guess.

Are you asking what the chassis number should be?

Doesn't the car have one?

Yep the chassis/body has ALH019788

Just wasn't sure if it should be the same as the 448935M on the big plate (body no)  But I think it is ok to be different??

It’s been removed and refitted at some point as the rivets are just general purpose style.

Chassis number and body number are in different number sequences.

I also looked at this car. The 3 tags all match, and body stamp on the car was correct, however it looked like a restamped chassis number

You do know that the 3 tags shouldn’t actually match? The skinny tag should match the body ID tag. And the ADR tag should match the chassis number. There is no direct alpha/numerical correlation between all three tags however.

Roger that. The tags are all correct, the chassis stamp is correct, but it's a restamp

How do you prove the car hasnt been rebodied?

You can't really, it may have just had rust in that front tray panel where the chassis number is stamped (it's a reasonably common place for rust), or it may have had accident damage, or as you say it may have been rebodied at some point in it's life?

With close inspection, someone who knows what they're looking for can usually get a good sense of whether everything is hunky dory or not, although the LH model is a bit harder to pick because it didn't have near the ongoing development that the LX did.

Looks like there is a bit of green paint under the black just below body tag which would match the original colour of that tag. But being an LH would that part of engine bay be body colour or Black originally
