Hi all.  Just wondering 2 things:

What do you do about re-chroming parts that have say a plastic piece, like a window winder.  If it simply unscrews or the like that's ok but the window winder is penned on and I'm not keen to muck around with it.

Has anyone done any black chroming good/bad and/or do we know how durable it is.

Cheers Ron

Ron, you can buy replacement roller kits that come with new pins.

i think ron is talking about the winder handle

you can remove the nob by drilling the peening off

then drill the counter sink deeper to allow for repeening

cheers  bat  new ones are a fair price !

Thanks gents.  Yes it's things like the winder handle I am talking about. I have actually re-done the winder mechs with the slide type replacement.

Albert I understand what you mean but a bit concerned there may not be enough meat on it once I've drilled it out but then again, if I want them re-chromed I will have to give it a go.

BTW I have moved these brackets around a few times in my searches for parts and wondered what they were for, and actually thought they may not be for the car, until I saw a recent ad for them. They attach to the section of the hatch area behind the back seats to stop the back of the seat getting cut up.  Presume they were an after-thought to fix a design problem.  Cheers Ron

No dramas with using repro handles Brad, and possible will if I go chrome but I am seriously considering redoing all the handles in black chrome and I don't think they do that in repros. Cheers Ron
