Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone can help shed some light on my 4.2l 2/78 LX SL in Super Mint Metallic. I purchased it a couple of years ago from NSW and managed to track down the owners niece through a christening invite I found under the centre console when trying to fix a squeak. It was purchased from Gersbach's Garage in NSW but not until 79. The dealer is no longer around. I have tried through GM but they said they dont have any records for it. Is there any other way to find more info about the car. Would like to know seeing it sat around for so long if it was one of the last. Cheers

Your next option is probably to order a report from HHS

http://www.holdenhis...ervices.com.au/

Costs $90 last time I checked but I'm not sure what info you're trying to find? HHS will give you production, sales & warranty dates, as well as the selling dealer (you'll need to ask for the Holden Dealer Code) but you may already have most of that info by the sounds of it.

Thanks,

I did try to get info from Holden as you suggested, but they said during the changeover from lx to uc some records had not been kept. Not sure about that one. Would just be nice to get as much info on the old girl as I can.

Sorry, I didn't suggest you try Holden, I suggested Holden Historical Services.

They are a standalone business not associated with the manufacturer.
