A friend of mine has some listing bows removed from Toranas over the years ,the ones he has all have clips fastened on to the ends ,I've never seen this before. I was informed it was to stop the bows from falling back or forward when in position ,was this a later thing ? Not in my LC Manual .

Hi

My 10/72 car has these clips. Clips SP2417 are for use on the ends of bows 1 and 2 for LJs only. They are only mentioned in the later version of the LJ parts catalogue. No mention of this clip in the LC parts book at all.

Cheers

They look like the same clips used in the doors on the door lock mechanism and linkages.
