I hope all of you who live in Melbourne and enjoy your hard rock and metal got along to Download this year.

Anthrax, Judas Priest and Slayer all on the same day.

Best unexpected band was Airbourne, channeling the sound of AC/DC circa 1976-80.

Anthrax were good. Nice gentle warm up mosh pit for later in the day.

Priest were excellent. Good mix of the new album and some classics. Didn’t do rock hard, ride free but with their back catalogue you are only ever going to get a sample.

Slayer were astounding as usual. Musically tight and Toms voice as good as ever.
Wild times in the pit.
I hope they change their minds and come back again.

I've never heard of it.  There is certainly nothing like it here in the West.  Airbourne are awesome. Like you say Rexy, it's like having a couple of new early 80s ACDC albums released.

I'm guessing this was called something different a couple of years ago as I drove my 2 son's and a couple of mates there.  Not my cup of tea (you can guess my age) but would love to have a share in black tee shirts and a tattoo parlour. LOL Picked them up from a gig with COG? and other bands in the CBD the other week.  My younger son said I should know them as it was the only CD he played whilst we travelled to northern SA to buy the Hatch. Cheers Ron.

I thought it was a bit of a letdown last time they were here.
