Does anyone have a pic of how the underlay went in a lc/lj? Was it just covering the whole floor or was it in sections?

If you are referring to the original underlay (Jute - brown hession type matting) then I believe it may have been in separate i.e front in three sections (both footwells then gearbox tunnel) and rear floorpan all as one although its hard to seek advise on this topic as most original underfelts have rotted away so finding member who can contribute to this topic is difficult/

The jute underfelt was mated to a bitumen type cardboard which I think went on top of the Jute. Probably to prevent water/spills penetrating carpet. My car had most of it but couldn't find anyone who had that jute to replace both my front footwells even though it was not exclusively used for cars. I've seen it used as an underfelt in houses. I was just trying to keep everything looking 'period' for the car.

In the photo you can see the bitumen cardboard material I've rested to one side
