Price is good - I have one of Axistr's kits and it's awesome, easy to fit and works great. First time I've seen the CAE kit though...

Going by the rack kit in the photo it look like it might only fit their tubular front ends. Cant see those brackets and rack bolting up to the original torana k-frame without a fair amount of mods.

Having a better look at their tubular front ends, the rack mounting plates have two bolts which look the same in the rack kit photo.

I thought the photo was just a universal photo maybe not the actual torana bracketary etc

This looks like a good setup for the LH/LX/UC that is a no cutting or welding straight forward bolt up solution.

I'm not here to bag out any opposition, but all the testing I carried out in the early days indicated to me just how much the steering geometry was effected by the rack position. The further the rack is mounted forward of the k-frame effected the toe out on turns considerably. The rack featured here looks to be more than 20mm further forward than my rack kit, and I personally know how much 20mm effects the geometry.
The other aspect mentioned is the position of the rack centred in the vehicle. If in the straight ahead position the rack inner ball joint centres are at the correct length in relation to the inner top and bottom control arm mount pivots, it will not effect the geometry when the steering is turned left or right, any negative effect cancels out any positive effect regardless. If the initial set up geometry is correct there should be little or no change throughout the turning radius . I did the same mod to the rack in my own Torana rack. When I did a second rack conversion on request from a fellow Torana club member using the same rack over ten years ago, he didn't want to go to the extra expense of doing the centering mod. It was then I realised that it had no effect so long as the original rack ball joint centres were kept and the rack at the correct height. My kits have equal turns left to right and also have a better turning circle than the original Torana geometry.
The article also mentions that they make a new rotary valve housing from a different material as the original aluminium housing is made from aluminium and wares. This is Incorrect. I have reconditioned over 150 of these racks and not one has shown any signs of ware in the original Subaru aluminium housing. The seals rotate on the internal steel spool valve and should not rotate in the outer aluminium housing.
I have found the most important aspects of the conversion was the inner tie rod rack ball joint centres, and the placement position of the rack in relation to height and forward position from the K-frame.
