Ill admit I have not researched Adani. It just seems that every one is so anti coal mining. Maybe we Clive should put his hands in his pockets then. As it would really kickstart the economy up here, as its beyond dead. I keep hearing reports that the GBR is threatened and what about all the jobs that would be lost if the GBR dies...

Yes there is flow on effects from having the GBR as a tourism drawcard, but its not the only attraction up here. The dive/tourist boats etc that run daily to the GBR are manned by backpackers and overseas workers. The pay is minimum wage. No one that actually lives here could afford to work in any of those tourism type jobs, as the pay is too low for the high cost of living up here.

Whereas a mining job pays top dollar and workers can then afford to put that money back into the economy.

The tourism industry up here is seasonal and so are the jobs. They are all casual positions. Low pay and its purely the backpackers and tourists who take on those jobs. They dont put anything substantial back into the economy or community.

C and D units at Muja Power station are being shut down around 2025. That is 824 megawatts going missing from the WA grid. I hope the wind keeps blowin'.

I have been thinking about buying a Tesla S for the Mrs for a while now, but the way Elon has been recklessly tossing Tesla around lately dont know if they will survive

past the next few years. And it looks like every European car company is now making an electric car to compete with Teslas line up. Either way I am going out to the shed to record some real internal combustion engine noises onto a USB drive so I can listen to it while I'm driving a lightning powered car just in case.

I can see myself owning a battery box car in the not to distant future and will probably out perform half the cars in my shed, but I cant see myself not owning a ICE V8.

Long live the ICE powered cars.

Methanol race fuel is now comparatively priced to petrol, low emissions and i make 290hp out of a v6 on it. I will admit however that the furl consumption is enormous.

Won't be hard to make elec cars for us petrol heads. Technology to have audio that makes any noise you select to match your heavy foot pedal.

Select 355 stroker, ls, v12, supercharged, list would be endless, gear changes, backing off burbles and pops.

Maybe even a cam selection option to shake around a bit at the lights via suspension mods.

Personally too old and want my v8 petrol forever but options there for our grandkids to get an idea why we used to smile when we smashed that little pedal.

Maybe I should patent that software now. :-)

Petrol will be around, take a long time before I felt safe in an electric boat.

Cheers

Muz

Don't worry about the patent, as apparently it's already being designed as a draw in for the old school fans. I have a friend who is obsessed with the ev's & tesla stuff. I keep saying that it does nothing for me & hopefully i die before I'm forced into buying 1, probably won't go that way though.

It all boils down to what our kids are being taught in school these days, and you wouldn't believe some of the tree-hugger bullshit that's being imparted on their impressionable young minds. Most parents wouldn't send their kids to school if they knew about half the greenie brainwashing that goes on in the classroom.

And by the time that generation grows up and starts spouting their crap at the generation after that, all of a sudden anyone who drives a petrol-powered car is evil and cows should be banned from farting!

Slightly off topic.

Farmers need to be given the legal right to erect signs on their properties stating 'Trespassers can and will be shot, this is your 1st and last warning' and the legal right to action what the sign states.

Love to see a triple going across the nullabor on electric. Bulldust. You want to cut emissions, look at the aircraft industry, remember 9/11, al aircraft stopped for 3 days and air pollution over New York decreased dramatically We only fly because we can, not because we have to
