Forgive me if I am churning over old ground - and I probably am. I have searched every forum to check part numbers for a HEI V8 commodore distributor offered to me.

Seller states it came off a factory carbied VL 308.

I have attached photos of cap, body and coil.

The cap is not an issue as many of you mention going original small with ford rotor/ or fitting as is.

The dist itself however is a different story. The part number on this one is 9230 064 924/ GMH 92007563

The coil 92062169

So my question is - will it suit my red 308?

I need to move onto other more important things like choosing a colour for my LX.

Thanks

Looks the same Bosh disy as the WB and early commodore ran. Had the same thing on my wb before going to MSD. There is an earlier model Small Bosh cap and rotor that will fit if you remove the spacer and large cap. It will fit a 308 if it came off a carbie V8 in a commodore or WB Holden.

The coil looks right for the modle to. It needs 12V to run not a resister wire like in a torana. I used the resister wire to switch a relay and  run a fused 12v feed to the relay pin 30 to power the distributer last time I converted an early modle holden to an elctronic disy. If you do not give it full voltage you will have troubble with it.

I've just been looking at my setup the past weekend and I found this useful, as I can't remember what or how I have, just that the mallory and accel points type left me stranded somewhere on a freeway or something one time so I did it:

As a result decided to replace +20 years old plugs with the ones recommended there so hope all correct, good timing, Repco had them on sale half price!

chuck it on

cap fits easy you just have to remove cap and bits to fit dizzy

here is a pic of mine on my UC , it doesn't  have a heat box thing on normally so just held it on in the right place to take the pic

also like dron said sort the resister wire out
