hello to everybody

haven't been on here for a while but am now in the middle of my hatchback rebuild. I'm thinking about removing the sheetmetal that supports the wooden "floor" in the rear compartment, my concern is weather or not this is considered structural.

Hoping to hear of other peoples experiences and or opinions

Cheers

Terry

Hi Terry.  Can't say for sure but would think it adds some stability to the rear.  Out of curiosity what are you proposing to do if you get rid of it.  Cheers Ron

Ties the shock towers and wheel arches together, structural!

G'day Ron the two brackets that cross between the shock towers will be replaced in a much more presentable manner as the front one is the support for the back seat, but the two side and rear supports would be removed and the interior panelling would then go all the way to floor

That would be different Terry.  I prefer to have that underside section for hiding things in, like my battery.  Good luck with it.  Cheers Ron
