Not that anyone really cares

But I'm flying over for the fest

I need some local help though

I plan to hire a campervan... nothing too big... maybe a Hiace or something

Anyone have any leads or recommendations on camper rentals ?

Plan is.. .fly in Friday morn... drive up

Spend the weekend hopefully in a van park close to event hotel

When fest is over I'll head to Bathurst and drive around a few days before flying back on the Saturday after

13th - 21st

Suggestions or recommendations ?

Once you've done a lap of the Bathurst track and checked out the museum keep on driving. Nsw in my opinion has lots of more interesting areas to explore. Obviously this depends on what your into though.

I used Avis to hire a Hilux camper the last time I went to Bathurst. I went with a bigger company because I wanted to drop it off in Brisbane. I had no problems with them at all.  A word of warning. If you see another Hilux camper, and he wants to race you along a bumpy windy back road, expect all of your food and plates to end up on the floor. (Along with a coffee jar that had the lid come off).  It can get messy!!!

The Jenolan caves worth checking out?

G'Day Neil,

Glad that another WA resident is coming over. I have a WA A9X owner staying with me during T'Fest as well :)

Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves definitely worth a visit. You might need a small vehicle for the road into J Caves though as it is very narrow with several hair pin bends, should really be one way and it is when the coaches drive along it so just check out their website for road closure times. The caves are excellent :)

I'll have the hatch at Toranafest so come and say g'day.

Cheers,

Liz :)

Sounds like a great trip Neil, hope it's easy

I have had a look on toranafest.com.au but didn't find any info on 'the event hotel'?

Which is it?

Cheers, Tom

I actually have no idea if there is an event hotel.... or where the gala dinner is being held

They aren't terribly forthcoming with info on the website

Hi  Neil and all,

Yes, i would think the  closest Motels are long fully booked.

The Gala Dinner  ( at Club Maitland City )

is all but booked out as well, so get in now if you want to attend.

It is shaping up as a bigger than big event.

I've already entered... technically... carless

And put in for the dinner

Just haven't got any info yet

Yeah, hard to get the car to come in under the 7kg hand luggage rule?

I understand an email will go to all who have entered/dinner, about a week out.

Cheers
