Hi does anyone know of the name of the product that was sprayed underside of xu1 boot? The rough tar like product or an alternative

It is applied to all Torana not just XU1.

GMH simply refer to it as a heavy Bituminous material in the Body building rust prevention information sent to the Dealers.

It is the same Bituminous material as used in the rear wheel tubs and inside the door skins and does contain asbestos.

Yep, as Dave stated above. As for re doing it, wurth make it again, i think they just call it some sort of body deadner, if your chasing an original finish, best of paying more & getting an adjustable Schultz gun for more accuracy. Do it, after the primer coats & only put top coat colour over it. Gary.
