Hi all.  Well I started fixing my new cowl lacing and the little plastic push-in buttons don't hold at all and they don't have, what i would call, a recess in them to allow it to anchor to the cowl.  So my question is, what have others done and what was the original fixing.  Parts catalogue say SP1710 but I can't seem to ascertain what that is.  I suspect it wasn't plastic.  Thanks in advance. Cheers Ron

Hi Brad.  Hard to tell from the computer but those clips seems to be the same as the ones supplied with the lacing.  Here's a pic.  I ended up getting some christmas tree style push-in plugs from Repco.  A bit bigger in the head but at least they hold the lacing to the cowl.  Cheers Ron
