Hi guy's,

At the start of this year I was swapping gearboxes and wanted to give the new one a coat of paint in the correct colour. I contacted KBS COATINGS and took a original m20/m21 side plate down to see what they had available in their "Motor Coater" range as I wanted to use a good quality paint and I've always had good results with their products. At the time none of the colours were a close enough match, so I purchased two of the existing colours and did my own mix to get the correct colour. This turned out well.

I sprayed a sample and gave that to the friendly staff at KBS COATINGS and discussed the demand for such a product.

Fast forward 6 months or so and now you can all buy the "Aussie 4 speed red" online through KBS COATINGS or their stockists. The Motor Coater range of paints is heat and chemical resist and tough as nails.

I should add that I was given a sample card sprayed with the new product and the KBS team have done a great job of matching the colour.

I found the white knight red oxide primer was almost bang on.

Your colour match doesn't look too bad there Brad, I think that the KBS is atleast as good of a colour match if not better though and to compare the primer to the Motor Coater paint is comparing two very different products.

Isn't this colour the same as EH-HR engines & HK-HG steering box lids ?

If not it's very close.

That's the colour that I was going to originally buy from the KBS range but the sample was too dark.
