I picked this bench seat up for my Premier the other day, and can find very very little information about it... It's obviously a bitsa, with the fold down arm rest like an HJ bench but HQ headrests, so you can fold it down to meet the front of the rear seat.

Anyone ever seen one/own one?

You can also lock it at 45° and 60°, and it slides back and forwards as well.

I'd thought they were an option on early holdens but it appears from oldholden they are aftermarket.

Love your work gents.

Seems to be a few mentions of them in the pre-HQ era, but very very little regarding 70's stuff.

I bought it because I absolutely had to have it, despite the fact that the Prem is probably a decade away from the road.

They were an optional fit for the EH but not in the Premier as they had buckets. Don't think the one I'm thinking of had an arm rest in the centre though.
When fitted the car was described as being a 'camping body' but I can't think of them being an option for the early girls back to the FX/J models but I might be wrong.

These folding seat backs were never a factory option.

They were a very popular aftermarket conversion done by several companies in all states. I've seen this done to EH Premiers (one on each seat) as well as FX, FJ, FB etc. etc. & many other makes of car as well.
