Never knew N.S.W allowed street registered Torana's having a supercharger out of the bonnet.

This may cause rego issues from now on question.gif

How was that street registered with a supercharger hanging out of the bonnet?

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that his insurance company says "No" to that claim. Would've been a much easier repair before some numpty cut the B-pillar and roll cage out of it with the jaws of death too.

I can't figure out what that is sticking out from under the front at ground level? Looks like some kind of alloy pole sheared off?

Suckos

How was that street registered with a supercharger hanging out of the bonnet?

I'd suggest it wasn't legally registered at all. I hope his insurer denies his claim and that he pays those innocents, who he may have injured or whose property he has damaged, for the rest of his life. He's run up the back of something and I think finding fault will be a simple process.

Been a contentious issue on facebook aswell.
Mods aside, it was a serious accident people are been disrespectful to that.
Based on my own accident couple of months ago, i would not be surprised if the passenger is in a serious condition, difference to mine, we had approved full cage, harnesses helmets and FIA approved neck braces and i was still air lifted to hospital were i stayed for a week. Only now have i just gone back to work.
my thoughts to the family, i really hope they are in better condition than i think.

To cut out the B pillar someone did, or was suspected of having spinal injuries.

It is a clear case of stupidity, and one of the many reasons people with modified vehicles are targets for law enforcers.

It is also a reason why the cops steer away from calling them accidents, preferring crash instead. Although the MVA acronym is still in wide use.

I do however hope they arent too severely injured.

This could also be a call for advanced driving instruction.

Cant see ability to

a. reverse park.

b. U turn

c. hill start

d. 3 point turn

contributing to stopping this crash from happening.

Confidence certainly outweighed competence.

Cheers

Rob

i know the street, its a dead end and full of factory units , it would be fairly quiet on a saturday , I think someone was doing something silly and paid the price, that's no low speed parking accident. And as far as the B pillar goes I'm assuming the rescue guys that turn up put the passengers life ahead of the car

Should be 10 years jail. And loss off licence for life if the blower is illegal.

This is typical of the dickheads buying old muscle cars these days. Can't they kill themselves in old Hyundais ffs ?

Maybe a power pole?

You can see the car he hit the back of in the second photo above.

The skid marks look like he was 45° to the road when he hit (arse end out to the right)?

It is possible the blue SUV? reversed out onto the street and into the path of the oncoming Torana.

However as already said, to sustain that much damage the Torana must have been covering bitumen rapidly.

That looks like a white Z30 type oil filter under the front of the Torana.

Has been suggested somewhere else that it may be the starter motor.

Looks possible.

Wow there are really some negative people here. If someone had a link to a report on the accident I'd be interested in looking at it. Anyone who tries to say they have never broken the law while driving, spun the wheels or been a Hoon once or twice either doesn't like cars or is flat out lying. They have just been luckily enough not to have it turned to shit. I know when I was younger I had some close calls, they say it's better to be lucky the good.

Doing the wrong thing or not, modified or not, this was still someone's pride and joy. They have lost more then just there car, they may have serious health repercussions.

I think maybe some people are just salty they didn't have a car like this.

When you live in the bush, you have a different perspective on hooning on crowded public streets .

And if you're doing it to show off, well you're a dickhead right there.

You want to kill yourself then go for it. But don't endanger the innocent folk minding their own business.

Yeah I did some stupid shit when I was young. But if I had killed an innocent person back then I'd almost certainly be a drug addict or alcoholic now. Or dead.

If you want to go fast, do it on a racetrack.

It is clear that he was doing the wrong thing.

Basic deductive reasoning will tell you that.

As for jealousy, I doubt that very much.

I am no angel.

However I do pick the time and place with regards to other people when I do things not entirely legal.

I have been booked for speeding many times.

Not once have I shown anything but respect to the guy handing out the ticket.

I got caught. he was doing his job.

There would be, along with more than 90% of drivers, a question as to whether he could safely handle what he was doing.

Clearly, he failed at that.

If he has health problems, or his passenger, then that falls solely onto his shoulders.

No sympathy for him.

Maybe a little sympathy for the passenger, but he may have been egging him on anyway. That is something that I am purely speculating on though.

The driver is likely facing a huge financial hit.

Perhaps that may give him cause to reflect if he thinks about doing the same sort of thing again.

And could you please tell me what this thing is with using then and than incorrectly?

I just dont get it.

It cant be clicking the wrong key.

I lay awake at night trying to work it out.

That was a lie.

Cheers

Rob

It's funny how even the people who are busy calling other people "not so nice" haven't given a second thought to the supposedly innocent party in the soccer-mum-mobile that copped it up the arse?

That's not exactly nice either.

Seriously though, this is a car forum not a medical convention, is it really surprising that we're talking about the car not the people? I hope all the people involved are alright, but I'd say the damage to the Torana is terminal... RIP old girl.

He most certainly f'ed up. In a few different ways.

I have no sympathy for him.

If I was in the same situation, I would not expect it either.

But then I have seen first hand the results of people doing the wrong thing in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Ever been past a crash site a few days after a big one?

Have you seen magpies and crows on the side of the road pecking at stuff?

We often cant pick up all the pieces, so they are hosed off to the side of the road.

The carrion eater birds love it.

Cheers

Rob

The law says that a bonnet scoop cannot be higher than 100mm in height.

Otherwise it will obstruct the drivers left hand side vision.
