Hi All,
My rear shocks are bottoming out, is there a shock I can buy with less travel?

You should be able to adjust the koni shocks to possibly avoid the problem.

Are you sure of this?
Have you check travel lengths vs bump stops?
Is it hitting bumpstops first?

Bump stops fitted? Correct PN shock for the vehicle?

I seem to remember Koni doing shorter shocks for lowered cars, but its more about the spring not falling out at full shock extension rather than then bottoming out, or at least that's what I believe the main issue is.

Thanks for the replies. The shocks are adjusted more on the firm side and I don't have bump stops.
I'm 100% sure it's the shock bottoming out

You don't have bump stops?
They make them for a reason you know?

I had a set of BOGE or SACHS bottoming out also. They were correct for LH/X but I think they were for LC/J. I had to change brand from memory.

Without bump stops it is probable that you have smashed the guts out of the shocks. They are there for a reason as someone said earlier. Koni also fit shaft bump stops to their shocks to avoid this issue, however if the car is lowered and shocks were not ordered with this mention I reckon they are knackered for sure. I run a full Group NC suspension package on my LJ XU1, which includes lowered springs etc and I know the Konis that are part of this package have  shorter shafts amongst other changes. My bump stops are "reduced" in height but still present, have never had a bottom out .
