Hi all , once again i have searched and searched without any results so thought i would just ask here !

I am in the middle of swaping the 1900 opel and torquemaster gearbox with a red 202 and m20 . I have purchased an engine that came complete with radiator , m20 and tail shaft.

Now my question is can I use the original gearbox crossmember with the m20 if I just re drill the holes , or was there a different crossmember made for the m20?

And secondly , do I need to cut a slightly bigger hole in the tunnel for the shifter? I have the engine and box siting in the car doing a dummy fit ATM and it appears that I will have 2

again , I am sorry if this has been covered before I have spent days going round and round on google .

When a put a 4.2 into a uc that started with a 1900 and the same box I think I just bolted the origonal cross member into a pre drilled set of holes and bolted the new gearbox in.

I did weld new mounts to the cross member for the engin. The 6 should fit he same way, I dont rember what I did with the gear shift hole.

I used a fabricated rear mount and front weld on mounts for the Uc with a 355 stroker I have now, They came from an adelaide welding shop that I found thanks to Google. They came with an enganeering certificate for them but not your welding for the front ones.

thanks for the reply mate,

I found some fabricated front mounts on ebay , they have an engineers certificate with them. the torquemaster crossmember seems to line up well just the 2 holes for the rubber mount are not the same as the m20 holes.

with the gearbox sitting in position on the crossmember and the engine with mounts dummy fitted the tail shaft fits well so I guess I will cut the shifter hole slightly larger to line up and weld the front mounts to the k frame
