IIRC, the LJ tailshaft is 1240mm between the middle of each uni joint. For a w50 Celica gearbox in a LJ it's 1210 to 1215mm. I hope that helps.

I had 48.74" (1238mm) for a 6 cylinder LJ but we won't argue over 2mm. :P

I also have noted:

LH/LX 6 cyl shaft = 50.25" (1276mm) long x 2.5" (63.5mm) diameter

LH/LX V8 shaft = 49.95" (1269mm) long x 2.5" (63.5mm) diameter for 4.2L or 2.75" (69.85mm) diameter for 5.0L

And from the parts catalogs:

GOLD = all 4 cyl Exc/Torquemaster

VOILET = 4 cyl w/Torquemaster

BLACK = all 6 cyl Exc/LHD

ORANGE = Left Hand Drive 6 cyl 3 speed manual only

LIGHT GREEN = all 4.2L V8s

RUST BROWN = all 5.0L V8s Exc/A9X

Yes, any LC 6-cyl with an M20 Opel 4-sp has the Grey tailshaft.

Unless it's a later LCGTR with the Aussie M20 ,then I think it was red.

Interesting. I always thought the stepped tail shaft was only on the L34. Not often you see them available for sale.

No. A cut down ute one would look similar but not the same length of skinny section or diameter IIRC.

What I meant is, no, you don't often see them for sale.
