Has anyone used a Proflow wiring kit, EZ wiring kit or painless wiring kit? I am doing a rewire soon and I am just wanting people's experiences in using them and which one they used.

Cheers Dave

Why would you want to put an obviously aftermarket wiring harness, in an xu1 ? You still have to terminate half the ends, mount it all ect. When you could reproduce the gmh harness, withmall new connections from all auto creations, or whatever Aaron calls his business and it looks correct & is new & reliable. Gary

i have used a painless kit for my car its far from std but took a little bit to graft in but was one of the best things i did to it get rid of the old gtr wiring and dash as like most things over the years everyone had added and played around with the original harnesss. original harness and gtr dash is all packed away.

as mine is efi i just used the painless for the general lights and ign.

cheers H

Used the EZ Sportsman loom, quite easy to install, but you still run the Holden loom. Worst thing is the EZ loom is a little long in most areas, requires winding it upp and tapping it, makes it bulky under dash. If your a good sparky you could cut it.

I was going to use a painless kit before my auto elec. suggested I stay with the original due to good condition.  One thing with the Painless, as I understand it, it is made for the US market and you need to adapt it.  I think there are a couple of things but one is they only have a single wiring for rear brakes and indicators (run as one) if my memory is correct.  Cheers Ron

Also with the painless, its wires are heavier gauge and when tapped up like a loom they are bulkier around the instrument cluster etc.

yeah i adapted the painless one it wasn't that difficult for my application, i could imagine things could get difficult if your using a gtr style dash.

cheers H
