I think "Performance Transmission Components" in Victoria do them, seem popular with the 4cyl turbo Gemini's!

I guess there are quite a few mods to the trans being the reason. Back in the day VL turbos were breaking trans braked Trimatics which is why other transmissions are now more popular.

You could still build boost of the line with a good converter, manual valve body (using 2nd gear), 2 step rev limiter, well adjusted brakes.

yeah but the problem is I thought the transbrake where ready available but finding it hard to find one by it self I brought a 4000 rpm slingshot 8 inch converter to suit transbrake.maybe I should not have brought it

Not ideal then, will have to decide which way to go with either paying the price for a built transbrake Trimatic or having the converter adjusted for non transbrake use.

trans shop told me they can make a trans brake with solinoid and switch for $1100 sounds good as I already have a built trimatic and 4000 rpm 8 inch slingshot hi stall converter to suit trans brake it came out of a 11 second turbo 202 in a lc torana with a poor mans lenco lol

That's good news, price does not sound half bad either. I'm guessing it will be reverse shift pattern and the loss of engine braking?

yeah not sure if it’s going to be reversed shift pattern I would prefer to be forward shift but if not it doesn’t matter

those prices around 4k sound about right for a t braked tri unfortunately good tris are not cheap and there is a fair amount of work to do it properly inside the trans.

if your at the level of needing one that 4k price should not scare you at all.

not sure if you've used one before but the rest of the driveline needs to up to spec aswell.
