Where have you guys got your MSD unit mounted? It was in the engine bay on the firewall in my commodore but doesn't look promising in the LX. It had a MSD streetfire unit behind the kick panel with the old 202 and it was noisy as hell so would prefer to mount the 6-AL unit for the V8 in the engine bay somewhere. Any ideas or pictures would be appreciated.

Mine sits behind the driver side headlight (where the charcoal canister used to be), wiring runs along the chassis rail past the alternator

Not exactly out of sight but

Mine is mounted up under the glove box. It doesn't make any noise that I have heard.

Ok thanks. Might be ok in the car. Never heard any noise from it previously either but jeez the streetfire unit that came out made a hell of a buzzing clattering noise.

My 6A makes a loud buzz, tried it inside once but that only lasted a day or two before I got sick of it

Which model are you using. Mine is the MSD 6al-2 IIRC and it's quiet.

I have the 6AL-2 programmable, is that the same one you are talking about? God I hope it’s not noisy

I have the 6 digital in the car under the glove box, no noise what so ever.

I had mine up behind glove box aswell, as for noise, well my car was so noisy there was no chance of hearing anything from that.
They can create electrical noise in other things, cameras, in my case rally intercoms.
