Hi All

How do I know if I have the original engine in my LC Torana. I don't doubt it is as it is a one owner but I would think the engine number would show up on some of the other ID plates and it doesn't

Cheers   John

GMH didn't include engine numbers in the info on the ID Tags.

Post up or PM me your VIN number and current engine number, however if it isn't listed against your VIN/PSN in the vehicle master listing then we can't say 100% if you have the original 161 or 138 engine in your LC, assuming you don't have a GTR XU1.

Only place you may find the original engine number outside of original vehicle paperwork or rego papers will be the microfiched GMH Service/Warranty report printout. Plenty of people have a digitised copy of this for LC-LJ, but not all cars have their engine number recorded for many reasons, and not absolutely every car is recorded either as it is a service/warranty report and being a printout from a database using a search criteria you can imagine the odd car is missed.
What you need is the PSN of the car, which is the end of the VIN. Will look something like H123456 or L123456 or possibly start with J for an LC.
