Just wanting to know what I can do to fix a sticky old lock mechanism for my hatch? Can they be reconditioned?

Yes. Take it to a locksmith .

NEVER spray WD40 into a lock.

On a similar thread, I've read that refurbished original locks are better than the aftermarket ones.  Question is, can we get a list of recommended locksmiths in each State.  Cheers Ron

why no wd40?

recently I just filled all lock holes with the stuff.

been good ever since.

wasn't working without it.

Maybe if seized but otherwise graphite which won't clog with dust.

Gut full of contact cleaner - key in and out a few times then do it again - then a gut full of silicone spray

Someone may have tried something in the past that has "glued" things up
