Managed to catch up with these 2 legends of motorsport at the Sandown historics last weekend.

 

Sandra Bennett and Christine Cole/Gibson.

 

38C at Bathurst in 1970 finishing 13th in front of the Brock/Morris car and also Bond.

 

Highest finishing HDT car that year.

 

Also, highest finishing all female team, a record that stood for 27 years.

I wonder if the actual car survived?

It probably wouldn't be that well known that Christine raced the 1978 Rothmans 500 at Oran Park in this car.

I just read this thread which is a tribute to drivers/teams that don't always get the publicity, let alone the females of the era.  Now apologies if it's common knowledge but what happened to their car?  Cheers Ron
