Hi all, just new to the forum so please go easy on me if this is a stupid question.
I have a turbo block 308 and a trimatic gearbox to go in my LX. The adapter plate kits seem reasonably thick. If using one will everything still line up and bolt together ie: engine mounts, crossmember and tailshaft. Thanks Mick.

No. Plus torque converter bolts snap. There are a few ways to deal with it, easiest is get the block pattern changed.

The adapter plates are 3/4” thick so your box moves backwards by that amount.

There is a guy in West Sydney that redrills them as a complete engine. Look on Ebay.

The other option is to use a TH350 or 4L60 instead.

Harrop in Melbourne did one for me a few years back. Was cheaper than buying a new bellhousing at the time.

Keep in mind that if you start chasing big power then at some stage you are going to wish you had a turbo pattern motor. Plenty more big power trans options.
