Have to keep pumping accelerator just to keep it alive, even then its hard. Put a carby kit through it. Was mostly ok prior. Any help welcomedfcacc5ddb20136b5cd6b31ff64eb680a.jpgAttached File  20191123_124604.jpg   76.13K   6 downloads

vent hose blocked or plugged in the wrong place ? doesn't look like enough fuel in the bowl the vent hose can do that

Hi, Thanks for all responses, how do I know which is the vent hose. I'm sure hoses are correct, as I numbered them and checked they went back correctly as per a photo. You think should be more fuel in bowl? Measured top of float to top of chamber to be about 7mm as per book, when pushing down on needle lightly. Thanks00cec43cd73de89d1865b4f4a5a4b2a6.jpg

been a longtime since working on a varajet , think the vent hose is the first one on the left but you should double check

Leaning out at idle for done reason. So you have checked manifold to carb and head face seals for vacuum leaks. You can run oil around the joints. Inlet to exhaust egr passages are another source of leakage. No perished hoses. Idle mixture 2 1/2 turns out. There is also a mixture bypass screw. Try screwing it fully in and out.
