Any brake experts know if the VH305 is suitable for a V8 HT Disc/Drum setup?

Yes, the VH305 is the correct one for the job.

VH305 is I’m pretty sure for a HK with the long straight pushrod at the back. Should be the same basic fitment as VH300 and VH304 just different valve rod assembly at the back. HT (and later HK) have the booster with a straight rod through to the pedal, pretty sure these are VH305/VH312 and for later HT and HG VH320.
Send me some photos of it, will see if I can figure it out.

The check valve hole changes size at some stage too which accounts for number changes.
