I have one of the first LH torana's of the production line and it has a HQ style console in it, the low one with open rear where arm rest would be. I am sure it is origonal but have never seen any others like it. It may have been factory fitted with HQ console being one of the first off the line. Adelaide built car SL T bar auto 4 door. Thanks guys.

It may not even be ‘off the production line’.

My old SLR in my avatar was a 74 model with the factory HQ style console.

Trust me guys, the HQ console was all there was in that time-frame before the HJ was released in October 1974.
Before the HJ was released the high console did not exist.

Did they change the profile of the bottom to suit the torana floor pan?
Yes.

I’m really surprised these consoles didn’t get the boot during the 80’s-90’s to be honest. Some cars managed to stand the test of time

Speedo was changed during that 4th month. Is yours a March or April build Jak?

The origonal speedo in our Lh was also mph and kmph. Was 3/74 build. Body number build is 76

How do you know it is body number 76? In 3/74 Elizabeth were using a consecutive body number at the time around the 103000 mark and Dandenong was using the PSN around the 420000 mark. These were the body numbers on LH at that time. What is it's PSN? I can see if it was a Press Fleet car, but being as late as 3/74 I doubt it would be as most of the Press Fleet cars were 1/74 or 2/74 compliance.

Do you know approximately how many LH's were built in January and February Yel?

In LH there were at least two SL/R 5000's, and one or two of every other model. Maybe a dozen for road tests? Then there were cars for the motor shows and promo cars for HDT.

For LH release at Lang Lang for March 3 1974 I have 20 x window cards, two of which were TA. So 18 x LH.
6 for NSW (including the Saffron SLR5000).
4 for Victoria.
3 for QLD.
2 for WA
3 for SA.
The TA's were for Vic and NSW.
There was only 1 x SLR5000 which was NSW plus NSW also got a 4.2L manual SLR. Vic got a standard SLR but with a 3.36 rear axle. QLD and SA both got a 4.2 auto SLR.
3 of the 18 were not ready until 1st March 1974.
I have PSN's for all of these cars.
There were dealer conventions in Feb prior to this release so some of the cars would also have been at those. And also the Melbourne Motor Show on March 7th would have displayed some of them as well.
