Hi Everyone. I’ve currently got a standard single diaphragm booster and master on my Lx. I’ve got a new dual diaphragm ford booster and P10050 master with built in proportioning valve. I’m looking at removing the one off the chassis rail and re plumbing new lines. Question is I haven’t removed any line yet and I need to know are the existing and new lines single or double flared and would the nuts/thread be the same? Thanks

The threads & the flares are different. The Ford cyl has 3/8" UNF nuts & ball flares (these are also called "drill point" flares).

The LX will have larger diameter nuts & inverted (double) flares.

NOTE: Single flares are not legal on brake systems in cars.

I'd make up some new pipes, they are not very expensive.

Thanks Terry. I was going to make up new lines but wasn’t sure how to go about the line going to the back brakes as I don’t want to replace this. How can I leave it in position and get a ball flare on it as it would be major to replace? Are all the brake lines still 3/16?

Yes, the lines are still 3-16".

The best way to sort the rear pipe is to get a flare done near the firewall so you can use a joiner & then just make up new short lines.
