Looks like an engine lifting bracket, bolts on to the head, parts book will confirm it.

No I don't think thats it, it's only about 2 1/2 " long and pretty light

My first thought was a throttle cable bracket too.

Where did the engine it came from originate?

It came from my G Pack, a 202 but it was an exchange engine from higginbottoms in the late  80's. It has a HQ engine number

It may still be from a Torana, from about August ‘75 6cyl auto LH and LX used Holden engines. They started putting a X in front mid 1976.
