Try your plugs at .035" then .030", the fuel might be putting the fire out a bit. I rarely use over .035" with any motor that's going to rev.

Without going back through replies, what kind of angle was the car on when on the dyno?

Engine dyno mate so motor was perfectly horizontal.

Have reset float levels since back in car to compensate for the angle of the engine.

Awesome and interesting read Adam. Love the photo’s of the build with some interesting concepts I hadn’t come across before. Love the old 202’s. Fortunate enough to have an old school guru who built my circuit car with a similar 202 set up as yours and have a Torana with a different setup again. If you get stuck, send us a PM, I’ll ask me old mate who’s all over everything you’ve been writing about and more. Cheers, Westie

Thanks mate.
Car is off the road for winter. When it fines up I'll get it back out and continue fine tuning.
Will eventually post another update.

So after the winter hiatus the car has been out a few times.
Have started polishing the UM needles for WOT. Idle, cruise, light throttle good but still lean at WOT.
Have polished them a couple of times now basically on the last two stations when the pistons are at full lift.
It is working, on the weekend saw high 13 AFR at WOT, best yet.
I think one more polish and I may have it.
Spent some good time in the shed on the weekend. Pulled the timing back to 28 cos the plugs looked as though I should and pretty sure was hearing light detonation occasionally.
Reset the valve lash and swapped the water for coolant.
Sick of stuffing around with shimming the oil pump relief valve. I now have 60 psi cold start up but still only getting 40psi at full noise.
I don't think it needs any more shimming so have swapped from ULX 110 20W/50 to HPR 30 to see if i can get above 40 psi hot.
Will road test again either this weekend or next.

How much have you removed from the last 2 stations? If you push the needles into the piston by an 1/8"(one station) it may give you a better idea of how much to remove, just remember that it will be rich everywhere else, just ignore it to test your wot.

Hello did you happen to weigh the engine by any chance? I'm curious about a 202s weight without having to deal with people guessing or giving arbitrary numbers they heard once upon a time.
