There were two Freedom Machines. One for NSW and one for WA. There was another built at the same time for Victoria, but it was called Easy Roller.

Are there any concerns by any South Australians engaging BlastWorkx SA to do the paint stripping. No bad stories out of their shop??
I had a chat today and seemed solid.
Would prefer more north of the city if there are any recommendations.

Both photos taken on the same beach. A bit of useless info for the grey matter.

-LH SLR, I’ve just ordered the carpet from Knox. They only have Covert in Classic Loop so that’s what we will do. The rest is from Cools. I will try & keep the paint as is & treat it rat rod like to preserve as it’s that good a body. If I can’t I will probably sell registered with new interior complete.
-Mini, I’ve just got running again. I had to put it back together due to the last chap pulling apart.
Bloody cheap to buy parts for the ol Mini compared to Small/ Big Ford & Holdens!!! Dash shelf lining, dash backing inc vinyl, cooper s instrument pod, tachometer pod, complete exhaust, muffler & hangers from extractors back, clutch cylinder gasket, control arm bushes, 2x tie rod ends, tie arm bushes a couple other minor bits & brakets $740. I will get a baseline on how it is mechanically now & make sure I got all the parts & then she’ll be sold as is or resprayed & kept for my lad. its definitely an old race car. Found the kill switch, cage holes with brackets still there, adjustable suspension components, Bilstien shocks, Weber etc.
-LC XU1, I have begun removing the Chrome & Stainless items, had the stickers copied for replacement after new paint, sorted panel beater & spray painter.
I’ve been cleaning up the garage now insurance has been sorted. Once shed sheets have been replaced etc the engine can come out & final strip for paint removal
it will be good to get the LC to the shop.

When you start playing with something that isnt so popular, its amazing how far your dollar will go.
I recently picked up a few parts for my latest project.
Almost complete NOS front guard. Had the rust section cut off it, but the replacement patch was only about 60 bucks.
Complete dash pad in absolute perfect condition.
Good complete dash including an unused ashtray.
Full centre console uncut. Most used to be cut for a Mk lV aircon unit.
Pair of taillight surrounds in mint used condition.
Plus a lot of other little bits and pieces.
All for 250 bucks.
And someone spent the time removing them as well from the car.
The owner didnt want all of the money so I suggested to the bloke who removed them to keep the rest.
In the end he did it for free and gave the owner all the cash.
Owner was more than happy after that.
I could have had the whole car for a little more, but had no space to put it.
It would have made a great secondary project.
I am almost priced out of the Torana market I think, but reasonable priced cars do keep showing up from time to time.
Cheers

I've had the rear torana badge holes welded up as I don't much like that badge there. The rest I'll keep.
6 will be replaced with a thong slapper

I hope you took plenty of photos and measurements of those pin stripes David. So many people have gotten them wrong.

Deauville Blue is the tits. I love that LH just how it is in that photo. Hopefully re-painting it doesn't lose its fantastic charm, haha.
Great trim combo, too.

Shiney's all over it. Plenty of measurements have been done.
It was very original and patina but struggled not having the paint on point so I'll get her done!
I've got a HR prefix 253 going in and made very subtle changes such as no torana boot badge and contemplating losing the front and tailight badge holes but keeping torana badge on front.
I also have a HT 308 which if goes in I would definitely not want the gaurd holes and rear SLR badge holes.
It was a tuff call to alter but once paint was going on I felt I could make minor alterations without going wild.
No flares. Can't do it as she's a very good shell

See pic of engine date and #. I've had a look at stamping and looks like it's no problem.
Without cars original plates, is it possible through service records and engine # combined to have a win?
I only wanted the motor but came with shell and some of its original interior.... and another shell. All rough condition

HHS may be able to help once you get the chassis number.

That rusty old LH has had a factory rear spoiler on its boot lid.
Yep, correct interior, booster, master, exhausts, chrome around the inner door frames, no holes between tail light and filler as per a 3.3 or 4.2 slr, sway bars, HT 5000 engine etc.....

davea79 is all over it but you can add vinyl on the door tops, chrome lock knobs and the glove box lid appears to have been black.
The engine number and cast date also line up OK.

Over years bits have been taken. I only wanted the motor but they said it all will need to go... then once they said that and the motor came from the green car I looked again and it was clear!
There can't have been many in that green with green interior. Is there a register for these?
Anyways I still haven't seen in person yet and hopefully I can delve further into history and hopefully where the id plates have gone.
The good news is there is:
- Rego plate on the back
- chassis # (hopefully)
- engine #
Good ol auctions
