Out of nothing but pure curiosity and boredom. I noticed that the LH Parts manual shows essentially 7 engine fan blades across the model range.

4 Cyl excl Air Con  1340071

4 Cyl with Air Con  1340072

6 Cyl excl Air Con  2823424

6 Cyl with Air Con  9937024

8 Cyl excl Air Con  3947771

8 Cyl with Air Con  3947772

L34                         2823424

But the curious thing is the L34 and 6 Cyl excl Air Con fan blade share the exact same part number????

Are 6 Cyl fan blades indeed the same as L34 fan blades?

I see nothing listed in the L34 parts supplement to say that anything different was offered?

The standard L34 fan is like a 6cyl one.
The optional fan was larger.

Interesting. Is the optional fan listed anywhere? I could not locate it in the L34 Parts Supplement.

Arrimar is right.

Most if not all the L34's sold in the northern states of Australia had the larger option fan fitted.

My car sold by Zupps in QLD has the larger fan.

Don’t rely too heavily on parts catalogues. The LH one also shows the close ratio 4spd as L34 but as you know that is not the whole story.

How do the ends of the blades look on yours Crabba? My L34 one looks like the blades have been cut shorter in a guillotine. The edge is square, whereas the standard V8 ones are more rounded. I am wondering if Holden had the same fan manufactured for everything, and then shortened the six cyl version?

What is the measurement of yours tip to tip Brad?

Laurie the measurement is 7/12 " from the centre of the water pump shaft to the blade edge....  that's the correct fan for L34.

Brad yes the same fan for a standard LH with no air.

cheers
