A dozer is better for pushing over poles. What were they thinking?

Not if you go back later with a grudge and a chainsaw!

I hope the occupants are all okay of course, but you'd still repair that. At least the rescue monkeys haven't used the jaws of death on it. The rear quarter damage sucks but the rest could come from a sedan donor with some careful chassis aligning.

And yes, "STH216" is a Lake Illawarra highway car (so between Wollongong and Shoalhaven).

Bet the owner wishes he could rewind the circumstances leading up to the event. Never a good thing when one loses their pride and joy.

It's also possible that he has more money than sense and doesn't give a frOck. With the price of hatchbacks these days I reckon a lot of them are being bought by rich kids who think they make them look cool.

Chain saws don't work on poles in SA. A fella by name of Stobie engineer with electricity trust invented a pole made of concrete and RSJ, It's called a Stobie Pole. Stopped a lot of cars since early 50s.

If an Insurance claim it will be a Stat writeoff unless owner repairs it. Can only be a parts car or re-regoed with a different chassis number (which it will probably get with donor front end anyway).

That reminds me of my mates boss who bought a big dollar, immaculate, original Indy orange lc gtr for his son. Then the son cuts the gtr up to fit a big stereo and the old man was screaming.

Car hit pole is a big earner on the balance sheet. They have a strong and a weak axis. If hit on the concrete side they are generally #@$^%& and the driver pays for replacement. Not cheap.
