Hi all.  About to put my original ignition barrel back in the steering column and wondering if there is anything (refurb wise) I should do with it beforehand?  Cheers Ron

Might pay to check the condition of the sector gear that actuates the rod to ignition switch while it is all apart.

The gear can get brittle with age.

Good point Arrimar but can you buy replacements?  I can only seem to see one's out of US cars.  Cheers Ron

Rares etc sell the rod and gears as a kit.

Thanks Arrimar.  I think I will run with the one I have as it seems pretty good.  For anyone interested, I had a look on the web and can only see a kit for LJ and wondering would that gear be the same for LX?  Cheers Ron

Yes the LJ kit will fit all LX Torasnas except the very late (1978) models with DLXxxxxx chassis numbers, they use the Commodore style.
