Hi all.  I'm just trying to refit my foot hand brake and realised I have a few issues:

- I don't have the spring #12 from the parts catalogue that runs from the rod to the bracket assembly and don't know what it looks like.  Anyone got and pics or info on this as I assume that you can't buy a replacement from Rares etc.

- On the rod I have, I had taped a spring to it, which I assumed was part of the mechanism but now I'm not so sure

- Is there a grommet where the arrow is?

Thanks as always.  Cheers Ron

Having a further look at the assembly I think there may also be a spring located between the ratchet lever and the bracket on the opposite side to #12 but this doesn't show in the parts catalogue and I can't find my service manual to see what is shown there.  Cheers Ron

I think these are the bits you need, the spring is actually on the other side it’s not attached to the release lever. If you PM your address I’ll send them to you. Dave

Hi Dave.  Thanks for the pics that's awesome.  Hold that thought about sending as I think I have found the spring, which I thought belonged to the actual brake pedal.  Now to have a look for that plastic bush.

When you say it attaches on the other side, is that the #12 spring location as per the part book or opposite? Cheers Ron

It is actually on the other side, being one dimensional the illustration shows it the spring on the wrong side

the number 12 spring you cant see too much of it unless the whole handbrake thing is taken off , all you see is the end of it

but you can see the other spring on the lever easy

Hey Ron   the spring in my photo is not the no 12,  it's the one on the other side.  the spare handbrake I was looking at must not be complete.  Dave

Bear with me Dave and thanks Troy.  Sometimes it takes a while for it to sink in.  So from Troys pick there are two springs, one from the lever to the bracket (with arrows) and the other from the pull rod to the bracket.  Here's two pics.  Tell me if I have the first spring right? Then what does the other spring look like?  It would have to be shorter than the one on the rod.

The other thing I notice in Troy pic is there is another grommet at the bottom of the keyhole.  What's that about? Cheers Ron

The spring I have Ron goes where your red arrow is in your last pics, It's a very light spring about 3/4"long

Thanks Dave.  I told you it takes a while for it to sink in lol.  The spring I found obviously isn't the one but I'll have a furter hunt around. I actually found another pic on EBAy last night which shows the other spring.  I will post it up when I get a chance for anyone interested.  Cheers Ron

Hey fellas newbie here, I’m helping a mate with his LX Sedan, someone had fitted a UC Floor Handbrake no console.

My mate wanted to put the console back in so we’ve put the foot park brake back in and my question is, is there a spring that returns the foot park brake pedal back when you release it?
