Gday guys..i misplaced the nut and bolt that holds the
spare wheel in place ...i found it but during the
search i came across another.im pretty sure this is
used to bolt the radiator support bracket to hq
chassis so has anyone of you guys have a pic of what
Im after.

Hi Maz...
Could be wrong, but I thought only the 4 cyl. cars had a "bolt".
All the 6's had the hook bolt thingo?.

Bolt is hook bolt 😂😂😂

From memory GTR/XU1 spare tires lay flat as they are slightly wider profile than the stock 6 cylinder models and won't fit upright.

re the above...yep..the 5.5 inch wheels were to be layed flat...4.5 inch upright.
i.e. The B70H13?? would not fit down into the wheel well properly. I I R C.

You'd think that GMH would've made the spare wheel well wider at some stage to accommodate the wider wheels. It was just laziness and cost cutting not to do so.

Maz, John Gong asked me to post these pics for him.

Both are for sale just make him an offer.

 

The wing nut type suits LC Torana S & SL with A178 tyres and 4.5" rims.

 

The wheel nut type suits LC GTR, GTR XU1 and Torana S, SL optioned with B70 tyres and 5.5" rally wheels.

According to John's example it is. Bit hard to tell from the LC workshop manual drawing.

hey Dave sorry if I put you in a spot and maybe we just got mixed up in text but both these are the same ,,,but the one with the nut on it is wrong nut that nut should also be a wing nut, as that nut belongs to an xu1 rod,,, gee mate I'm even going nutty here.

The one pictured above by Paul it the xu1 style
