Hi Fellas,

What is the cheapest way to get my wipers going again after the motor died/rusted internally ?

Do I search for a good Torana or HX / HZ wiper motor?

Should I just part with $360 for an Ebay motor?

I really appreciate your insight.

Find the oldest auto sparky in your area & ask them if they can rebuild yours.

That's what I thought. I imagine if you needed a new one for a VF from Holden it'd not much different in price.

As long as the windings are still ok I would pull it apart, clean up all the components and re assemble. The bearings would be still available and cheap and I am sure an auto sparky would have a set of brushes. Worth a try any how. They are very simple inside.

Thanks for the replies. I found one for $50 and I hope I can use the parts from the two to make 1 decent one

I tried removing the motor housing from an old one the other day but it didn't want to come off. Is there a trick to it other than removing the two bolts?
