Id say 2 inches. Back in the day 2 inch lowered springs were what we all just put in and they seemed to be about right.

Nice car, Before you look at lowering it to much check to see your tyres aren't going to scrap. Unsure if and how much your guards are cut under the flares. Also you'll need a wheel alignment on the front as the geometry will change.

Start by cutting 3/4 of a turn off the springs and see where you are at.

Reckon that second car has taller rubber? If you can fit bigger tyres will look good without so much lowering but as said clearance to guards is the main issue.

If you can see the tread on the top of the tyres from any angle, the car is too high.

Cut at least a half a coil (3/4 is more likely) off the front springs until it doesn't look ridiculous any more, and see if the ride is firm enough for your liking, if not, get stiffer springs and then cut to taste.

Rear springs... go and buy some normal 'Lowered' springs then have them compressed another inch at a spring shop - unless you can find a "super low" in a catalogue, but I'm not sure if that's available.

Thanks everyone, I was hoping to buy a set at the right height but it doesn't look like there's anything out there off the shelf

The L34's and A9X's had the heavy duty F71 (Taxi pack) springs so they could be homologated with the larger wire diameter. This made them sit up as high as your car Jason. The first pic is my car when it was new. The second is after 45 years of "settling".
