Hi all,

Hoping to get stuck into some overdue rust repairs on my LJ 4dr - both lower front guards, lower rear quarters, passenger sill, front valance & radiator support.

Just wondering who does the 'best' repair panels these days?

I came across Aveska Auto & Restoration Parts (https://www.aveska.c...r-repair-sectio) and noticed they are Australian made, so would prefer to support these guys where I can. Any feedback from anyone who has used them?

Cheers

Have a look at patch maker on face ache as well. I have seen his work & it looks good, pretty Maz has mentioned him on here. Might be more expensive, but you do get what you pay for.

I can only comment on what I've used.

DON'T use Rares lower front guard patch repair or their section of outer sill.  I think Rates full guards are good and the full outer sill which includes the sill end with big hole are good.

Marty, that's because Rares don't make them. :)

I too have used many of the rares spares repair panels. None fit without major modification. I've used both the lower guard and lower sill panels and they needed sectioning to shorten them down to fit. Not hard to do, although it does suck cutting a brand new panel in half.

I haven't used any other brand panels on toranas, but I think you'll find any you get will need some kind of massaging to line up properly.

Nothing beats an original panel..if you can find them.
get em.ive used 5 asian repair sections and 2 i
was happy with.it makes it hard when your skills are
limited but you want to have a go yourself and on a
budget..best to stick to the aussie guys.it just
costs more but but beats doing it twice..
