Hey Albert, If the car is unmolested, has the reverse switch all aussie position and has the opal centre-console mounting holes that's how you tell if the car is what you think.

that is what it is marty
what you stated
it got out of hand by a couple of kids because they can't go to the playground

well i think it is likely
not trying to cause a shit storm but as i have stated there are 2 cars that i know of
those 2 as far as the owners know they are original with the right dates on the gear box
trying to find information on these cars is near on impossible as there doesn't seem to be alot of info out there
so instead of making silly comments show me why it's not possible
hope for some info bat
LC & LJ Aussie M20 gearshift rubber boot and console. As you can see, the increased physical size of the boot and the more centralised gear stick on the Aussie M20 required a larger aperture in the console to prevent fouling.

i understand what your saying Dave
my car being a CF has an all aussie m20 with an opel console
all the holes in the floor indicate it as such
no holes have been patched and redrilled
so my original question was, did some of the CF cars come out with this combo
cheers bat

Hi bat (Albert)
When you took out the console did the hole for the shifter still look original, I have seen them use old original stock on the change over cars but that had made the hole a little bigger.
As to the wire hole for the reverse if you look at your build thread post 7 of the pic with your car on its side you will see you have the right hole there for a CF engine prefix built 71, before you replaced the floor pan that is,,, then if you look at the 2 pics the crab man posted you will then see the difference.
Remember the 3 screws that hold the console to the body are all in the same spot, its the holes that hold the rubber boot retainer that are different

gong check my build thread you will see that the only part of the floor pan i replaced is the bit under the drivers foot and a couple of patches on the rear floor
what makes you think that i have replaced the floor pan !!
don't know what the original hole looks like
i will put a photo of mine

Well it looks like they did modify some Opel consoles, as John has indicated, to work with the Aussie M20.
Found these pics in an old thread about consoles.
This pic is an unmodified console.

This pic the console looks to have been modified the same as Alberts.

Bat sorry man my wrong, I was thinking you replaced passengers side because in post 7 page 1 of your build thread the hole is clearly there, then done to post 25 page 1 were you have painted floor red hole is gone,, please remember my eyes are getting old now.
That's it Dave...
Cheers gong

Can someone check an opal console and an aussie console that the mounting holes to the tunnel are the same distances apart ( 3 holes). My tunnel is opal but when I put an LJ console on, the holes are not usable. Holes look original with counter-sink look about them.
John has mentioned above they're the same but I need confirmation for my build.
Cheers
