Yeah, shame. My point is, don't worry about it. Nobody cares. Nobody. Except maybe the 50 or so spot-weld counters on here. Which, in the overall scheme of things, is nobody. You've got an original XU-1 so just enjoy it. Or not. If this stuff is really important to you then go beat yourself up.

The one on his car is not even a GMH one. The p/n number for a HK PCV valve 6 cyl is 6484309.

Hi Anthony - I think your copy of the HK parts catalogue wasn't kept up to date very well.

Zook I understand and agree with you that its seems a waste of time so why bother, however there are a lot more than 50 of us lunatics out there.You could say that to all the GT falcon, E49 and millions of other rivet counters around the world trying to keep rare classic cars as original as they can because it is a passion and a hobby and if it costs me $15 (see previous post showing one on e bay) to make this piss ant little thing correct then why not .

Anthony mate: Why are you preaching to the choir? Nobody is disputing that that was the original part number - it even says so on the picture I posted. You superfluous post doesn't change the fact that; 1 your catalogue was not kept up to date, 2, the pen amended number is correct and 3, you always like to have the last word.

PCV valve Part No.6484309 was discontinued and superseded by PCV valve with Part No.1533669. 1533669 became the correct replacement part for the application. Simple.

Still running my car with the PCV valve blocked off but as said previously it ran like a pig (wouldn't idle) so had to bump up the idle screws a fair bit and then ran weird so received advise to screw the mixure in one half a turn on each carby and now she's running sweeter than ever before even though book says 2.1/4 turns out. Bit hard to idle in this cold weather when cold but sweetens up when warm. Guess its sucking from the carbies now instead of engine fumes. Anyone else done this to make their cars run sweeter or have I created other issues by doing this?

I don't run it on my engines but don't just block it off. Run lines to a baffled, vented catch can from the rocker cover.
The engine still needs to expel gases.
