Hi Albert,

I'd suggest someone like Dashboard Doctor for the recover then buy the boot and strip from Rares.

Buy the whole console from Rares and swap the bits over to yours.

Expensive but do-able.

Rares sell the LJ console silver trim separately. Just don't know if the retaining pin hole positions are the same for both console types.

Million dollar question, will the silver trim from a Rares LC console suit an original LC console?

Could have changed but when I looked at Rares LC console it wasn't vinyl covered. Dash Original used to due them and they are vaccumn formed to put vinyl on plastic base I used a Rares silver trim on my GTR original console but that was 8 years ago

Albert, I'm pretty sure if you are talking about the insert that goes around the inside perimeter of the console, it's actually silver & not chrome. If the holes are in the same location, all you would need to do is trim a section out of the Rares 1 & file up the edges & touch it up a bit.

LC is chrome

No idea on that one. However, the CK cars had the chrome highlights on the instrument surround, heater control surround and lower dash, so it’s probably reasonable to think the console trim matched. And the silver was introduced on LJ’s. But.....??

LJ also had the chrome highlights on the instrument fascia and lower instrument panel, same as all LC Torana.

The LJ floor shift console is the same part number as the new console introduced for LC with the Aussie M20 so it stands to reason that any of those new type consoles fitted to LC Torana had a lack lustre silver look trim on the console same as LJ.
