Mine is 25k on laid up insurance as a rolling shell sight unseen...they also said they'd raise it much higher if car was inspected/evaluated.

sorry, just got back to this one........

Bit hard to be definitive on the price...depends if you are on a multicar discount.

Car on club plates. Not laid up.

The numbers on my sheet are  insured value =  75k    cost = 363 ( number is a bit meaningless, as it's part of a multi vehicle policy)

On a 5 car policy. Note  - includes a trailer or two, just to get max. number on there.

Good value I reckon.

Car now sold, so back to 4, so the others may now all go up a bit.

To insure for 80k was $801 bit expensive on club rego which I haven't got was $450 roughly so looking into club rego . have to rejoin  wa gtr xu1 club which I use to be a member of do I get to keep my number plates ?

My understanding is 'Laid up Insurance' is for cars more than 30 yrs old that are not running. eg: in the process of being restored.

Courtesy of Shannons pds...

Laid up is when your vehicle is not in use and is:
• located within a private residence;
• located at a Shannons auction event;
• located at a garage or workshop for repair or other work; or
• being loaded or unloaded for transport or being transported
to any of the above locations or motoring events.
3 We will cover parts removed from the vehicle when they are
kept in any of the above locations.
7 We do not provide any cover at all under this policy
if your vehicle is insured for laid up and is being driven
under its own power

My CV8 is on laid up insurance there are no age restrictions. Just means it is fully insured if something were to happen at the place it is stored. As long as it is not being driven.

Yes, plates remain you will have to display a historic registration front and back in the form of a number plate surround or to that effect.
