Hi as I said earlier, the seat cushions are the same  as any slr/ ss etc, years ago I had a bet with a friend about seat heights, we measured the seat from a friends 11/77 a9x and a late 7/77 slr 5000 from  metal floor to bottom frame of seats,  the seats in the a9x were  taller than the slr 5000  measured in the same position, by memory I think it was 20 mil plus, I will re measure them again to get an exact height,  there were no spacers under the seats,     the only thing I could think of was the bottom seat was from a hz holden,   again my theory only

Daryl, is it just the driver's seat you reckon sits higher or both front seats?

Hi.. from the Hunter Valley Torana Club website...

The interior saw a couple of subtle changes, the seats were mounted slightly higher and the decision not to give the A9X option a radio wa......

Hi sorry it took a week but finally went to measure the 7/77 SLR 5000  and the 11/77 A9X front seat, I measured from the drivers right front corner with the seat fully in back position, from metal floor to the bottom base of seat,  the 5000 measured 50 mil, compared to the A9X in the same spot measured at 67 mil  difference was 17 mil, I couldn't measure the seats fully forward due to the carpet,  you would never tell with the naked eye,

Thanks for taking the time. It may have been a legal requirement with the bonnet scoop.  I know that when the Hornet scoops came out the cops were telling us we had to be able to see the road so many meters in front of the car from the drivers seat. So it also depended on how tall you were.

It is interesting that they chose to use a forward facing bonnet scoop on their diagram Andrew. The Hornet scoop came about because the cops were stickering cars for having Pro Scoops, citing that the sharp edges on the front would harm a pedestrian if hit. Then they tried the same thing with the Hornet scoops, but they had to pipe down when the WRX came into existence. Well, that's how it went down in WA at least.
