I have repaired the faulty (and only) sender I have.

Understand that the resistance range is between 10 and 70 ohms.

The best I can get from the sender is 5.5 to 71 ohms

Is there any issue with the low reading? will it have any negative affects to the gauge in the cluster?

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks in advance

See if you can bend the little tag to prevent the arm from travelling so far in that direction.

As Brad said^^^

Those thermal dash gauges don't like much less than 10 ohms. At 0 ohms the insulation on the copper heating wires turns to smoke very quickly.

The factory specs are 10 ohms Full, 73 ohms Empty.

I just checked the one for my HK today to see if it works as repro ones are nil stock. Meant to be 0 to 30 Ohms, checked as 3.5 to 37. Will still work but not perfect.

Brad.....I take your comment as the lower reading. Get the lever to stop at about 10 ohms?

That will show in the gauge as full when it is somewhat less than full.

Yeah I’d tweak it a bit just to get that minimum ohm reading a bit higher to provide a little more life for your gauge.

Hey Yel,

While I was searching for a new LX unit, I happened to come across this.

https://www.rarespar...-25-gallon-tank

Are they just advertising and not having stock? Maybe follow up on RS you may be able to snap one up

Currently with your readings it will show over full. 10 ohms +/- 1 ohm is considered full. I would try to aim for 11 ohms minimum to give your gauge an easier life.

73 ohms +6 / -1 is considered empty.

So anything from 79 to 72 ohms is within spec.

Heaps of those around, but this GTS has a 16.5 gallon tank. 25 gallon is the big tank that was standard in GTS327 and GTS350 manual.
