Hi members

I am selling my M20 V8 box at the moment as putting a T350 in. I have a guy asking if I am selling the ‘rat trap’ and figured it was something to do with the clutch pedal mechanism. I figure I will be removing the clutch pedal but is it part of the setup I need to keep for the auto brake pedal or do I need a different brake pedal setup. Otherwise I’ll sell it to him. No idea what they go for at a fair price. In an Lx.

Auto and manual brake pedals only difference is foot pad size. You would normally change brake pedal and remove clutch pedal and associated connection to gearbox. If factory V8 set up worth good money.

No, you don’t need the rat trap.

Cant say I have seen one for sale in recent times.

Ask him what he wants to pay for it and then tell us!

i reckon it’s worth $250 -300 if it’s in good condition.

There is a fella on fb chasing a V8 clutch pedal.

There are a lot of people chasing clutch pedals. Easy $150 +

I sold my last rat trap for $150 . Someone is doing repro now @ (i think) $450.

I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong ....... i think that the auto / manual brake pedal is different in shape . I know that the commonwhore is the same shape & simply a case of cutting the pedal pad down , but torana isn't .

Yes, the metal bit under the rubber is different size - bigger on the auto.

Easy to modify either way. Cut down if auto to manual, weld on extension if going manual to auto.

not much of a difference , a little more of a bend in the manual pedal , maybe a bit longer and the pad difference

I just cut down the auto pedal when I went manual in the hatch.
