Is it recommended you use a sealant of some kind around the thread of the gearbox fill point plug?thanks Paul.

Doesn't it have an alloy washer to seal it ?

Not an Opel.No washer.

Filler plug on the side of the Aussie M20, M21, M22 has a sealing washer just cannot remember off hand if copper or aluminium.

Yeah, :fool: I should have remembered you were asking about to correctly install the Torana OPEL shifter return spring earlier this year.

 

It is a tapered plug so should not need any sealant of any kind.

Yes the Opel filler plug will have a tapered BSP thread. Just use some thread sealant on it. Even gasket sealer will do the job.
